Eden Studios sigue viva

118 Tavern Names from Dungeon's Master
How many campaigns have you played where the DM started the campaign by stating “The party is in a tavern and an old man walks up to you with a job offer.” Now my normal response is “What’s the name of the tavern?” To which most DMs respond it doesn’t matter. The…

Being Gentle for Other People’s First Time from My Girlfriend is a DM
Our apologies to our readers for the lack of posts in the past few weeks. I’ve recently re-entered the world of the working, putting in long hours as an ‘emergency associate editor’ for a magazine. That, plus new responsibilities somewhat prevented me from devoting as much time as I’d like to…

Hello, I’m an Avengevoker from StupidRanger.com » rpgbloggers
For D&D Encounters, I opted to try out the PHB3 Hybrid character class, mostly for the renown points, but also for a change of pace. I’ve been playing my Hybrid for 7 weeks now, and I wanted to take a few moments to share my thoughts. Creating my Avengevoker I did a little bit of..

One of the more important parts of writing a 4e module are the encounters. Not just combat encounters, but anything you consider significant enough to give XP to the PCs in the adventure

Just thinking idly here, as I’m bored. This isn’t a “whining for the olden days” post, as much as it may sound like it. I’m not an old schooler and you all know this

Encounter and Initiative Tracking 3.0 from Continuing Clockwise
When I started as an occasional dungeon master in Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition, I used initiative cards to track initiative, defenses and passive perception and insight for players and defenses, initiative and some powers for monsters. Gradually I simplified things (using the plan-do-check-act..

Review of Three-Dragon Ante: Emperor’s Gambit by Wizards of the Coast from NEUROGLYPH Games
“Cards are war, in disguise of a sport.” ~ Charles Lamb (1832) Last week in my Review of The Plane Above: Secrets of the Astral Sea, I mentioned that when I ordered my copy of this new sourcebook, I also order a deck of the new Three-Dragon Ante: Emperor’s Gambit. Now I had seen the previous

Lords of Dust: The End from Dice Monkey
It was the last session for both our Lords of Dust 4e Eberron campaign, and for our gaming group, the Game Knights. As is fitting for such a melancholy occasion, we downed a bit of tequila throughout the night. Bryan was running the game, and as you recall, in the last session, Aldan Vane went with..

R.I.P. Daggermaster: How the Errata Killed My Character from Dungeon's Master
I’m the first to admit that some character builds are stupidly powerful. These are usually the result of creative players scouring through character builder and looking for loopholes to exploit. I fall squarely into this camp.
